Preparation Cooking Time: 1 hour and 15 minutes
Ingredients:
• 3 slices bacon
• 1 onion, chopped
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 2 cloves garlic, crushed and minced
• Pinch red pepper flakes
• 3 cups chicken broth
• 1 lb. collard greens, sliced
• Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Pour the olive oil into a pot over medium high heat.
2. Cook the bacon until golden and crispy.
3. Transfer to a plate.
4. Crumble into bits.
5. Next, add the onion and cook for 5 minutes.
6. Stir in the garlic. Then, cook for 30 seconds.
7. Next, stir in the collard greens and cook until wilted.
8. Pour in the chicken broth.
9. Season with the red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.
10. Reduce heat and simmer for 40 minutes.
